Mastering Complexity in Multidisciplinary FEED Execution

Overview

PT Tri Panji Puring was commissioned by PC Ketapang II Ltd (PETRONAS Carigali) to provide Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) for the Bukit Panjang Development Project. Operating in the mature Ketapang Block, the project presented unique engineering challenges requiring precise greenfield innovation and complex brownfield integration while maintaining absolute adherence to offshore safety and operational risk management standards.

The Engineering Challenge

To develop 6 gas production wells via an unmanned offshore platform (BPJT-A) while ensuring economic viability through weight limitation, and safely integrating the production stream into existing, live operating assets (BTJT-A, FPSO Ratu Nusantara, and ORF Gresik).

Our Strategic Solutions

Topside Weight Engineering & CAPEX Optimization

Through rigorous iterative design, our structural engineering team maintained the BPJT-A topside lift weight strictly under 500 MT. This critical milestone enabled the client to utilize a Jack-up Rig for installation, substantially reducing the project's logistics and installation insurance risks, and enhancing overall capital efficiency.

Advanced Remote Control Integration

To ensure the seamless operation of the unmanned BPJT-A platform, we designed a sophisticated integration of control systems back to the FPSO Ratu Nusantara. By expanding the FPSO’s Main Control Room with new Operator Interface Stations (OIS) and Engineering Workstations (EWS), we enabled real-time, remote-controlled asset management with high-tier cybersecurity and functional safety compliance.

Comprehensive Brownfield Interfacing

We meticulously engineered the tie-ins of a 28km multiphase pipeline (18” FWS) at the BTJT-A platform (involving riser guards, deck extensions, and pig receivers) and completed the onshore scope at ORF Gresik (Gas Scrubber and Custody Metering). Our multi-disciplinary synchronization mitigated process interruptions and upheld the stringent standards required for custody transfer and fiscal measurement.

Conclusion

The Bukit Panjang FEED demonstrates PT Tri Panji Puring’s capacity to deliver technologically advanced, risk-managed, and highly efficient engineering designs that meet the exacting demands of global Energy Majors and Indonesian regulatory frameworks.
