PT Tri Panji Puring Completes FEED for the Bukit Panjang Development Project
Published 29 September 2026 · PT Tri Panji Puring
PT Tri Panji Puring has completed the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) for the Bukit Panjang Development Project in the Ketapang Block, offshore Madura, East Java, in approximately 41 metres of water.
Developed by PC Ketapang II Ltd (PCK2L) – PETRONAS Carigali, the project involves six gas production wells. Its engineering scope connects the offshore wellhead facilities with existing offshore infrastructure and the gas custody transfer point onshore.
Project Overview
Client
PC Ketapang II Ltd (PCK2L) – PETRONAS Carigali
Location
Ketapang Block, offshore Madura, East Java
Water depth
Approximately 41 metres
Production wells
6 gas wells
Scope
Multidiscipline FEED, offshore and onshore
Project character
New facilities integrated with existing infrastructure
One system, three engineering fronts
The Bukit Panjang concept brings together a new offshore production platform, modifications to an operating host facility, and modifications to an onshore gas receiving facility. Engineering decisions across these three fronts must account for their effects on the connected production system.
New offshore facilities
The BPJT-A Wellhead Platform is an unmanned platform with six well slots. Its topside was designed with a maximum lifting weight of 500 metric tons, supporting the planned fabrication and installation approach using a jack-up rig.
The jacket design accommodates a Drilling-on-Jacket concept with a permanent drilling deck. An 18-inch, 28-kilometre multiphase Full Well Stream (FWS) flowline connects BPJT-A to the existing BTJT-A host platform.
Integration with existing offshore assets
The BTJT-A modification scope includes a new 18-inch FWS riser and riser guard, deck extension, pig receiver, tie-in piping, control valves, and electrical and instrumentation modifications to accommodate the new production stream.
On the Ratu Nusantara FPSO, the Main Control Room scope includes expansion of the Operator Interface Station (OIS) and additional Engineering Workstations (EWS). These modifications enable remote monitoring and control of the unmanned BPJT-A platform from the FPSO.
Onshore modifications at Gresik
At the Gresik Onshore Receiving Facility (ORF), the FEED scope includes a new gas scrubber and custody metering system. Civil, piping, control instrumentation, telecommunications, electrical and mechanical engineering are coordinated to support gas custody transfer at the onshore end of the production chain.
Engineering that connects sea and land
Bukit Panjang extends from the offshore wellhead to the onshore custody meter. Delivering FEED across new and existing facilities requires a coordinated approach to offshore and onshore interfaces.
The project demonstrates PT Tri Panji Puring's multidisciplinary engineering scope across an interconnected gas production system.
